چکیده

The thickness of papillary dermis is an important parameter in optical model of the skin [1, 2]. Any change in the thickness produces di erent model with speci c skin colouration. This paper investigate the accuracy of the skin imaging system in quantifying the thickness of papillary dermis and also epidermal melanin. It also evaluates the e ectiveness of infrared primaries in contrast to conventional red, green and blue primaries for measuring the two parameters. Error analysis demonstrates that infrared primaries are more reliable for such a measurement.

A noninvasive skin imaging system

A noninvasive system capable of quantifying both the position and concentration of the major constituents of human skin along with the internal architecture is presented. Input to the system is in the form of two infrared and one colour image which, through an understanding of the physics relating the light remitted by human skin to its internal structure, provides information about this intern...

Developing a predictive model of human skin colouring

A model of colour formation within human skin has been developed to aid the characterisation of pigmented skin lesions from their digitized colour images. The model is based on the Kublenka–Munk theory of scattering and absorption within inhomogeneous materials and the physics pertaining to their colour properties. By considering the skin to be a layered construction of such materials, the stra...

Noninvasive Skin Imaging

An earlier model of colour formation within normal human skin was extended to include architectural distortions associated with various pigmented skin lesions, including malignant melanoma. The extended ve-layer model makes it possible to derive parameters characterising the thickness and pigment composition of the skin layers from calibrated colour and infrared images of skin lesions. The extr...

بررسی بالینی ـ آسیب‌شناختی واکنش‌های پوستی لیکنوئید در بیماران مراجعه‌کننده به بیمارستان افضلی‌پور کرمان

Background and Aim: Lichenoid tissue reactions are a group of skin diseases with hydropic degeneration of the basal cell layer and inflammatory infiltrations in papillary dermis. The aim of this study was to investigate the clinicopathological features of skin diseases with lichenoid tissue reaction. Methods: This retrospective cross-sectional study was conducted on 118 cases with lichenoid ...
